What This Service Is

This service focuses on the early detection and accurate diagnosis of breast conditions, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

It usually begins with a Detailed Clinical Breast Examination, followed by imaging if required. Depending on findings, further diagnostic tests may be advised to clearly understand the nature of a lump or change.

Our Emphasis Is On:

  • Understanding Normality: Knowing what is normal for your specific body type.
  • Accurate Identification: Identifying exactly what needs attention versus what is harmless.
  • Safety First: Avoiding unnecessary procedures while ensuring no important signs are missed.

Everything is explained in simple language so you are never left guessing.

⚠️ When Should You Consult?

You do not need to wait for symptoms to become severe. Consider a check-up if you notice:

New breast lump or thickening
Persistent or localized breast pain
Spontaneous or bloody nipple discharge
Change in size, shape, or skin texture
New nipple inversion
Abnormal ultrasound/mammography findings
Family history of breast/ovarian cancer
General anxiety about breast health

*Many women come in simply for reassurance, which is completely valid.

What Tests May Be Involved?

Not every patient needs every test. Investigations are chosen based on age, symptoms, and examination findings.

  • Ultrasound of the Breast Uses sound waves to evaluate lumps, especially useful for younger women or dense breast tissue.
  • Mammography An X-ray of the breast, primarily used for screening or evaluating women in higher age groups.
  • Biopsy / FNAC A core needle biopsy or fine needle aspiration may be done if tissue confirmation is required.

Each test is explained beforehand, including why it is needed and what information it provides.

What Happens Next?

After evaluation, we create a clear plan. Usually, one of the following happens:

  • Reassurance & Observation: If findings are completely benign.
  • Short-term Follow-up: If a specific change needs monitoring over time.
  • Targeted Treatment: For infections, cysts, or other benign conditions.
  • Treatment Planning: If cancer is detected, a structured plan involving surgery or oncology is coordinated immediately.

“The key point is that you are not rushed and not left alone with uncertainty.”

Personal Note

Most women who come for breast screening do not have cancer. For those who do, early detection often means simpler treatment and better outcomes.

Care from a trained breast specialist like Dr. Ashwini Jasani (Modi) ensures that concerns are evaluated thoughtfully, decisions are explained clearly, and care is planned with safety and peace of mind in focus.
